well unless u need an airtight mask u do notneed to part with yhour dreads
well thsat is if they were natural since u maintained and used crochet to start they are not only damaged but considered fashion only so they can ask you to cut them
if yiud grown them naturaly and didnt maintain you can keep them aslong as u dont bneed an airtight mask or helmet firefighters fighter pilots and austraunauts are siome of the only jobs that can require yuou to cut
hiwever becausde of how they were started ansd maintained its probly a good idea to start over anyway or at least let your scalp recover you probly have alot of thinning from the twisting and buildup from the poor choixce in shampoos
there is a post on donations probly featured but they were very hard to conrtact so might no longer do it

actualy i knowalot of dreeadies in law enforcement so yea they do not need to be cut

i even know swat team members with dreads
\have them show u the exact wording of the policyuy and evewn if its specific to dreads they still cant regulate it bwecause dreads have spiritual and religios conotations
