how bout a full history yoir site says twists and freeform but when twisted was wax i=used?

honnestly they look good its normal for 1 side to look diferent from another 1 side maybe a lil wilder it depends how you sleep really

but if you give us a full history of what u do and how you care for them as well as everything done and used from day 1 we may spot possible issues and have solutions

include what you wash with and how often

Umm I think the lady in the shop used wax to start the dreads off & after that i have been mostly getting it retwisted with shea butter i think its calledBut for the first year i knew nothing about maintaining my dreads I didnt use any oils or conditioners. & i was washing them constantly with shampoos that contain residues. Now i use almond oil to keep them moisturiZed with a leave in conditioner && i use head and shoulders shampoo & conditoner"2 in 1"(the ingredients dont have that PEG stuff in it so i think its residue free)Is this a good maintanence routine?.

no dont use head and shoulders

i hope you no longer retwist! retwisting causes traction alopecia and balding

yes you got residues for sure almost every store bought shampoo will cause residues and wax even used only 1 time leaves residues in forever

ok www.dreadlockshampoo.com get the bar..since u used head and shoulders i guess you got dandruff so hget the teatree rosemary bar

but also get wax b gone

after using wax b gone a couple times if you still feel like theres residue then use either nutragena anti residue or suave clarifying...once and only once they are highly toxic (so are all dandruf shampoos) but the residue removers are made to only be safely used once every couple months

after removing wax and residues use the teatree rosemary bar wash weekly or more 2 times a weeks better

with those bars you most likely will not need much added moisture

if you do then pure aloe vera straight from the plant (if store bought it should have no other ingredient but aloe) or jojoba oil for you jojoba is most likely your best option

dont over use

leave in conditioners are a no no

Okay thanks for all your help! I appreciate it so much!To remove the residues I was thinking about using the baking soda acv wash. Does this have more cleaning power than the wax be gone or is it about the same?.& why should i not use leave in conditioners?& why do people use hot oil treatments?. What do they do?

wax b gones much much better at removing wax bs acv is a good deep cleanse but not as good of a red]sidue remover as the clarifying/anti residue shampoos

some ppl with youir hair type didnt have the best results with bs acv (although i believe he was a heavy wax user)

Okay one more question what do you mean by the anti residues are toxic?? Does that mean its gonna make my dreads fall out if i use too much or something?

no i mean they are toxic substances they are safe to use on ocasion but not all the time

its not about your dreads falling out its about whats healthy for you and your hair

they are harsh residue strippers made from chemicals that arent too safe for constant use

they say on them yo only use so often and i think the how often they recomends too often

so use it only when you really need to remove residues but not as an every wash shampoo

every few months wont hurt ya
