I'm a 27 year old, white male who lives in 'Cornfield' Indiana.  It can be difficult to find understanding regarding my locks in this area, tho not impossible.  I lock my hair for spiritual reasons.  I do not believe that any one current religion is representative enough of any 'higher power' that may exist.  Not to say that religion is bad, in fact I feel most religions strive to teach their followers a peaceful way of life.

I personally feel that all beings on this planet are part of this planet and thusly are provided energy by 'her'.  Many beliefs tells us that energy is lost from the body via the head.  Locking one's hair helps to extend the stay of that energy within our vessels.  I can attest to feeling ... better ... in general, while my hair is locked.  My focus, energy level, confidence, self recognition, and empathy (to name a few) are all noticably more within my control.
