wax glues hair together and never washes out u have to get the wax b gone and agressivly remove it u dont want any alternative to wax u want nothing..no wax nothing
throw away the hook start doing wax removal then leave then aklone dont work on them let them dread
I'm glad we've been able to help. Aloe is good. But remember that aloe is a conditioner. It will keep your locks looking neater, but it will slow down the process a lot if you use it often. It's really only good for if you need to look nice for a special event
I do feel like I should warn you, though. Wax does nothing to help locks. In fact, at best, it only prevents them from forming. Because wax is a hydrocarbon, it NEVER washes out in normal soap and water. It needs a detergent a TONS of scrubbing to get it out.
And because it doesn't wash out, any water that does get to your hair, ends up getting stuck there, where it begins to rot and decay your hair from the inside of the lock out.
Pretty much... Wax only creates the illusion of locks.
As for crocheting... It is the absolute most damaging thing that can be done to locks. Even more so than wax. Wax can be washed out, given enough time and effort. The damage that is done by crocheting is permanent. It can heal itself a bit. But all it does is rips your hairs into smaller and smaller pieces, which makes your locks thinner and weaker. It also makes your locks stiff. The most mature locks should never be stiff.
Hopefully you only crocheted once to start. If not, I'd really recommend you take a look through the dreaducation pages and the recovery forums.
