Don't remember if I replied back to this yet, but when hair is wet, start to pull them apart slowly ripping them towards the roots. You do not need to worry if strands are stuck together at the scalp area, this can be left alone....Peace
No root rubbing either, it weakens the roots of the hairs causing them to become weak and fall out, thinning out the dread. Roots should be loose so that the dreads can freely move around and fly with the wind, so don't worry when they are not tight to the scalp. Tight roots also cause hair being pulled out, stress on the scalp and for some people it can give headaches from the pulling. No palm rolling. You plan to have yours for a very very long time, so just wash and separate any secitons trying to joint together and that is all you need to do. Nothing else, it's really as easy as that. ...Peace

Now for the wax, Yikes, you gotta get it all out. What did you use to remove it after having it in for 3 days? It is tricky and not all that possible to get it all out after one try....If any of its residue is left in, your dreads will never mature properly, they will only be held in place by the wax. Also, wax holds in water pockets which cause mold and very funky odors. You don't want that happening.
Now, unfortunately the crochet hook is used, even rarely is not good. Every time you use it on your hair, it sets the dreading process for mature dreads back for 6 months. Each time it is used it breaks hundreds, if not thousands of hairs in your sections and one day they will start to break off. If you want you dreads for years, or a lifetime, then you must never use the hook on it again. Use that hook to make yourself a tam instead, that is what it is really meant for.
If you want dreads for only a couple of years, then what the heck, do what you gotta do for that instant look as natural dreads will take about a year to grow, mature and tighten without assistance.
One day down the road you may decide that you no longer want dreads, God forbid, but it happens...Dreads can always be taken out using time, patience and plenty of conditioner, but when the hook is used, then you would only be left with broken short pieces of hair instead of full length strands, so be aware of that..Peace

u dont need it but u can use it semi often..like weekly

also how did u wash out the wax its really not that easy to just wash out
