Welcome. But knotty boy products are a scam. KB does not make anything that should be used on your hair, let alone dreadlocks. They just repackage other products and put their label on it.

Check the ingredients of the gel. I'dguaranteesomething in there is not water soluble and will leave a residue, or is too conditioning and will prevent locking.

Plus you can buy $2 worth of sea salt and make mixtures that will last more than a year.

Oh, I just checked out their ingredients. So, Aloe conditions your hair, which will prevent knots. Lime juice is citric acid. It is stronger than vinegar, which is acetic acid. Citric acid from limes, lemons, grapefruit, any citrus fruit will seep into your hair shaft and degrade it making it weaker and weaker to the point that it can get so brittle that it crumbles. That is why they include the aloe to try and cover up the damage that the lime does.

Avoid anything that Knottyboy or DreadheadHQ sell at all costs, just for the health and safety of your hair and self

Welcome. Have you checked out the dreaducation page? Natural is always healthiest. But TnR works well and doesn't damage your hair as much as other methods
