I let my hair dread on it's own for the most part. what I'm sure really helped is I worked on an Archaeological dig about 4 months after I threw my brush away. It was summer time and in the Oregon Cascades where a fort used to sit during the Civil War times. We got a lot of wind that came up off the ocean that had the sea salt in it and I was washing about every other day to get the dirt out. In the 4 months previous to that I also went on numerous archaeological surveys on the Oregon coast. The salt water really helped the locking process. Maybe too fast sometimes!
This picture was taken about 7 months into my journey.
