- How long have you been dreading?
- I started March 7, 2011
- Dreading methods, maintenance, and products used (if you currently have dreads)
- LOVING MY DREADS!
Started dreads with backcombing and a bit of palm rolling. I wash every two to three days, usually just standing in the shower and squeezing a product through them like a sponge. I love the shower heads that have the handle and different water settings! Great for the scalp, and I like to joke about how I "pressure wash" my dreads.
Experimented with products: I usually use Dr Bronners (peppermint or lavender) or a liquid Dreadhead anti-residue shampoo. I love the soaps from Mayleesgarden at ArtFire.com... Yummy scents!! LOVE to smell like a jelly bean all day!! Nummy!!
I've done a little palm rolling, and in the beginning I was crocheting in a few fliers... I can easily notice the areas I did any hooking (Which was a tiny little latch hook I found at a craft store, not the honking thing you get from dreadheadhq). Thanks to this community I plan to do maintenance by separating to avoid any convos, t&r, but let it do its own thing at the same time. My hair was very long and had a natural frizzy wave to it prior to dreads, and they have locked up marvelously!! :D

We're slowing working towards our goal though. We have purchased land for our future home so I can't wait until we can start building.
