Welcome Jackie! You are so fortunate to have come here first, at the start of your dread journey! I'm brand new here too, and am the poster child for what NOT to do to start dreads haha Dreads, even baby ones, have so much more texture and body than normal, everyday hair - I cannot do short hair either, but even tho mine are much shorter than when I started, they seem to compliment my face shape! I think that you will be pleasantly surprised by this too - so keep this in mind as you make your decision
Check out the dreaducation page first. How are you thinking of starting? The most important thing to know is NEVER use wax, gels, or creams. And NEVER go to a salon
Welcome. But creams tend to leave residues that will cause major problems down the line. And residues usually prevent locking.
And what are you tying your hair up in? That will slow down your progress, or prevent it completely. You hair needs to move freely as much as possible in order to lock up well, and not needing extra separating
u should never ever crochet you shoulnt even have a crochet hook throw it in the trash so your never even tempted to use it
