in no way shape or form was i personlly attacking the interviewer, thats nice to know it wasnt how i thought, i did say nonetheless this is a great interview, hoping people would maybe focus more on that than the slightly negative thing i had to say about the interviewer, im all about doing more research before i judge so next time i will be sure to do so. i watch tthe interview now and dont really agree so much with what i had said before, thankyou for helping to change my perspective. But i must say that your comment on "'white' lockers" was as ignorant as my comment on the interviewer, and very hurtful.I know a lot of the history of dreadlocks and embrace people of every race and ethnicity to be a natural, organic being by any means, including their hair. My judgement on the interviewer was blind and non researched, of course she is interested, she also encourages natural hair, i am very sorry if the comment offended you or anyone else. But i would like to say i am a positive member of this dreadlock community and if you were to meet me would see that i am not ajudgmentalperson, i try to be present in any situation of life and see it for what it really is, though we all have our slips of bad character, everyday i meditate andemitpositive energy withingeverydecision i make hoping tosuppressmy ego, unfortunately the post you have read above did not reflect these things, i hope in the future you will not let things like this hinder your view on myself or "white lockers" everywhere. many of us are educated, and im sorry you think otherwise but maybe youshouldtry to change your point of view, after allthis site is about natural lockers everywhere coming together and helpingeach otherin a peaceful internetcommunity i do not feel your behaviors and slanderous remarks on people of the white race (including myself) who chose to have dreadlocks was peaceful or helpful to me or anyone else, you could have nicely asked me to look at it another way. i do not like what you have said but i will not let that comment shape my view of you as a person or people of the same race as you. you should try to do the same from now on because like i said, everyone'sego slips up now and again and sometimes could use a good checking, but nicely, hats how peace is made. i hope this did not ruin your day and you can continue on with your journey peacefully, namaste.

thankyouu! <3

@Steven Wind- you are so incredibly kind! i put my feathers in with bead crimps, like when your making a necklace and your finishing off an end, you put a tiny crimp on there and use pliers to squeeze it shut...well use the same thing for your feathers, get a tiny peace of loose hair and put the loose hair and the feather through the crimp, the squeeze the crimp shut, and when you wanna take it out just squeeze the crimp the opposite way, or they will just naturally fall out like mine. orrr a safer way is to probably just tie it onto a dread with a string, like wrap a dread with whatever string and then attach the feather at the end. you can get creative with it.

^^ that is a link to the site, unfortunately the website is down right meow but, it doeslistsomeplaces in the lowerleft-handcorner that sell their organic bar soaps. now for the ranting...

OH MY GOODNESS this soap is absolutely positively AMAZING! EVERY scent ive tried so far smells sowonderfulyou want to eat it!!!

the first one i bought was the Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Soap with neem oil, it smells awesome.

the second one i bought was Lemongrass &Tea Tree oilwith orange peel, myfavoritecandy islemon-headsand it smells just like them, but fresh and earthy :)

And two days ago i bought the Carrot &Pomegranatesoapwith calendula extract and cranberries... and oohhh myyyy goosssshhh!!! it is THE MOST WONDERFUL SMELL EVER!

and none of these soaps dry out my scalp too bad, they get rid of dandruff, the dont leave residue or make my dread roots oily within 1 day. i love this soap and i love that there are so many scents and different oils that other soaps dont have. if anyone hasnt heard of this brand or hasnt tried it yet, definitelycheck it out, i LOVE it <3 && so do my dreaddies. which are now 1 year and almost 3 months now!

Too thin/many locs?

General Talk

you should NOT be worried :) your dreads are lookin great, 80 is a lot so they prob will be small from looking at your section size. about 20 to 30 will be bigger sized locks, 35 to 50 should be medium and any more than 50 should be smaller. but this is what i would do, wait until about 6 months when they will start getting the size of the root, if you still dont like the thickness then tie some together with string, or put a bead on em, that are right next to eachother and congo em up till you got maybe 60 or 50, they can get bigger no problem :) just let em congo if you dont like want the size to get bigger, but wait until theyve grown more first to see if you even want to change em at all.
