Too thin/many locs?

So I'm in between month 3 and 4 currently, did twist and rip and havent touched them since but to pull apart ones that were growing together. When I started I was advised to make them about 1 inch which gave me about 80 locs all together... Now I wanted them smaller but not this small. I was told they would eventually get to the size of the base since my hair is really straight they are about 1/8-1/2 the size of the base except where my hair is alot thicker. I've gotten a couple to congo the form fatter ones but still nervous I'm gonna end up with something I'm just gonna want to cut all off. I realize they are still new, I'm in no rush just dont know what to expect. Should I just not worry about it or...?

kind of had same reaction from my girlfriend, except she really wanted me to do it just could not understand at all why i didnt want them to be done 'professionally'

I hardly ever separate them, most of them just stay separate. A few have congo'd and I just left em or make sure its only 2 small ones doing it so they would continue to do so.

My question was is there anything I can do besides just leaving them be to encourage more of the thinner ones to congo?

So I am at almost 3 months and taking advice from here have pretty much left everything completely alone. The only question I have is, is there a way besides just leaving them alone to get your locs to join together. From what I was told they would loosen up, which they have done, but quite a few are a lot thinner than I'd like.

So any advice would be appreciated.

So I've almost got my whole head loc'd and I noticed the person doing my hair made the ones on one side larger than the other. On 1 side I have about 30 to 40 and the other about 20 or so, my question is will this look ok in a handful or. Months or will it be pretty noticeable? I figure some of the small ones on the side with smaller locs will join together but most will be smaller than the other side.So will it look ok or should I worry/redo, its already taken me over a week to get t his far and im really not trying to redo any unless I absolutely have to.

After about 10-12 hours of work I have maybe half my head done and about 40 some locs... From the looks fo it Ill end up with baout 80-100. Is this normal for an inch?
