Dread Wrapping?

I suppose I'm getting ahead of myself here since I only just started the natural dreading process two days ago and my hair looks completely the same as always. But I've just seen some people's dreads wrapped in some lovely colorful string! I was wondering how to do this. Do you do it yourself? Or go somewhere to have it done?
Thanks! I can't wait until my hair starts dreading! Granted it might take a while, but I can't wait nonetheless!

u do it or have a freind do it gfor u theres 2 types

speedwraps u take several colors embroidery thread (or hemp) put all the colors but 1 along the dread wrap the 1 around and around and around till u change colors ertc

these fall apart after a few weeks or a month they get ratty looking and frayed

the macrame type u do macrame knotwork all the way down to get fancier spirals rif=dges etc tghese can last a year or if hemp 5 years

http://www.dreadlockssite.com/group/decoratingdreads/forum/topics/strings check that out and join that group! I have a hemp wrap that has been in for almost 3 years and my embroidery thread wraps stayed in until i took them out, like a year maybe.
