Welcome. Did you use any gunk in the beginning? if so, you may need to do some extra cleaning to get it out. Most of the stuff recommended doesn't actually rinse out as well as it may seem

Twisting or crocheting that hair into your locks only forces the hair around the lock to get pulled out of your scalp, thinning your locks, and weakening them.
