So I just joined this site, finally, I began my dread journey about 5 months ago. I have chosen the natural method, which is good for my practice in patience. My partner inspired me to dread my hair. my question today is- can I avoid all the little white ended hairs, which are not attached to my scalp anymore, from being part of my dreads? They really bother me, and I am wondering if I just haven't looked close enough at other people's dreads to notice them or are there methods to keep my dreads free of them.

thanks a ton for any comments and suggestions

cheers

thanks for the comments, I had a feeling y'all would respond the way you did. I accept the imperfections, that is the whole point of dreading right? acceptance of what is, I just wanted to be sure it was normal.

it is so great to have support

cheers to all - have a great weekend, I think I'm gonna like it here

It's normal, I was kind of freaked out when I first noticed them (which wasn't that long ago lol) but when you look at yourself, you look closely and are looking for imperfections, so usually you find them. Other people usually don't, so no worries, they won't even notice.

You look at your locks from inches away. But you look at others from feet away. And they, yours.

So you see all of the "imperfections".

u hit it right on the head

step back stop looking so close

does a speck of dust bother you if its 5 miles away?

these lil white folicules are so tiny so insignificant

why are you letting them bother you?

step back u wont even see em from more then a foot away
