Rubber bands are bad for dreads. They cause weak spots on the dread, can break off and get stuck, then start to rot and smell. Dreads are supposed to be frizzy, unravel and even completely fall apart at the start. If they fall out it means that they are sitting in an unnatural position on the scalp. So, when you take out the bands, just let the dreads do what they want. Don't redo any starter methods, as it just sets you back to square one.
thanx for the birthday wishes. Its nice to see some Christian chics with dreads, i think chics with dreads are gorgeous. God bless you all too. Ya thinkin about dreading the beard but not sure because of food, lol.
So no one still hasn't told me why you don't use bands to start with?? wont they frey out and lose shape. Mine are all frizzy as hell right now and are messy like a chia pet. Im starting to thinkthey will unravell soon. I did the twist and rip when i made them though.
oh and i wanted to let my hair grow long before i dreaded them for a specific look and those are real tattoos on my face, they are 3 crosses, i am a tattoo artist and an ordained preacher of Jesus and am single if there are any cute single girls out there. And its my 47th birthday today
