and besides the crochet mistake let me talk to you about dreads in general they asre not about looks but lessons they affect you you grow with them and learn from them they are healing spiritual they give you strength wisdom and make you a stronger better person
you should really suport him its a lifechange that well he needs and perhaps if you dreaded with him youd understand too
but u will benifit the most from taking a more natural approach then crochet natural method would be best..just alow them to dread

so throw the hook away do the rest natural or twist and rip

palm rolling simulates dreading in waxy disasters since no dreading happens you palm roll it and glue it all together compressing hair into hardening wax wich makes them look dreaded but no new knotting happens
