Im a hair stylist in a upscale salon apart from being a regular stylist i am able to do dreadlocks aswell and educate people on proper ways to get dreads and how to keep them healthy. I actually got this amazing job right after i was finnished with my locks so i geuss it was meant tobe. One thing i love most about having dreads in the hair industry is some of the most conservative women come in and almost everyday i hear from them "Oh wow I love your hair! ive always wanted to have dreads but could never do it" and that defintly suprised the hell outta me geuss thats whatcha get for sterotyping

Help! Save My Dreads

ive used pepermint oil a couple of times..it was kinda harsh when i rinsed it out tho i smelled like a candy cane factory.

does it make it worse if you scratch? i had a similar issue but i just exfoliated really well and was more cautious of rinsing my dreads

i doubt its a fungal prob at 9 days its ftrom whatever method was used all the hair pulling and all that the bs wash will help but really your scalps just angry from the abuse it will settle down and adjust

if the teatree dosent work..it shud but if you do have a fungal problem there is a shampoo called nioxin it works really well.

I found quite a few 100% aloe products online..not very expensive. Or if you have4 an all natura foods store in your area they should carry it

i like em! soaring eagle is right tho def make sure they arent so big.. and separate them at least once a week i learnd that i have had mine less than a year and i absolutle love it

show them pictures of attractive dreads, while having a serious set down talk about it.give them the facts and a good reason why you want them. parents can be tough, how long have you been trying to convince them?they may think you are just going through a fase and will get over it sooner or later. unfortuantly some people will always hate dreads. that is their own oppinion..im not telling you to not obey your parents or isrespect them in anyway . but if you really want them wait until you are out of highschool out of the house then get em.

hahaha! ok wear you tam good idea..basicly if they like you they like you. with or without dreadlocks. comming from being a mom the only thing i would care about with the person my daughter was dating is if he was kind, put his effort into the relationship, didnt make her do all the work, and genuinly cared about her well being. He could be a troll for all i care as long as he treats her right

@ Chels - No, I'm not sleeping with them nor her at the moment since we just started dating! I mean when I do meet the parents, I could always wear my tam to hide them for a little bit!

@ SE - I played the game before with my 2nd set by shaving them off for a woman just for the relationship to last maybe 5mths! 1st set came off for a job for lousy pay then they laid me off permanently after 4mths! And there's NO WAY I'll wear a suit and tie and go to church! Played that game too and while sitting in church I realized that it went against all my beleifs! Hell, I'm not even wearing a suit if/when I get married! I'm wearing my patchwork pants, dashiki and going barefoot!

She did tell me that the only 2 things keeping her from dreads are 1. her parents and 2 her job!

IDK I'll see where things lead before I let them go IF I let them go!

DONT DO IT! honestly why would you want to impress people who cant look beyond your hair. So what if they dont like it, my husbands parents are super conservative..they freaked out thanksgiving when we showd up with dreads but ohh well we r adults and our dreads mean so much to us. Now yeh his mom kinda says her little comments but its not a big deal anhymore you just have to get over that innitial shock. Once you change one thing about yourself its all down hill from there dude. And really i wouldnt care what her parents think its not like your sleeping with them
