Washing Natty Dreadlocks And Tips For Beginner

thanks for the suggestion, but I still think that a tam would look strange on me right now. Would a crocheted beanie work?

Sorry, English is not my first language. Thought it kinda meant the same thing.

That's a beanie not a tam

I don't think I'll be able to crochet, but my mother will be able to crochet one for me for sure. Right now I'll be sticking with the tam I bought on ebay and when my hair gets longer I'll tell my mother to crochet one for me.

Thanks for the answer. 11 cm is 4 inches. but does wearing a tam too much affect the dreadlocks in a bad way?

sometimes i get pessimistic and think "real" dreads will never form in my case. it's been 1 month and a half since i stopped combing. I can feel like some baby dreads, but I feel they don't look like becoming big dreads or something. my hair is about 11 cm. also, I wear the tam I have about 9 hours a day. could any of these be reasons for preventing the dreads forming at all?

Thanks. I guess I'll let my hair grow a little bit longer and then try to get a homemade tam. It would feel strange to have such a big tam compared to my short hair.

I guess I'll ask someone to crochet one for me. I'm not good at this type of things, haha. It's been 1 month and I can notice dreads forming. Still using the tam I posted above. My hair is pretty short right now, but when it will get longer the dreads will look great. It's a great journey.

Washing Natty Dreadlocks And Tips For Beginner

Dreading Methods

Hello. Today I've just stopped combing my hair and plan on wearing a hat as much as I can and got a natural shampoo. I'm kinda worried about how to wash my hair. I feel like if I wash it I'm going to break the mini dreadlocks that are forming. Should I know anything specific about washing and drying the hair? And could you tell me any tips and things I should do that I haven't mentioned here? Thanks a lot!
