Qs about dreading fine asian hair

General Questions

Honestly, I didn't find any difference with or without ACV rinse ... I'm just doing this because the experienced fellows have been saying that it is important and you should do it.. you don't have to follow everything as precise as it is recommended here because everybody has got different circumstances, like different hair type, different water pH, different climates.. you'll discover everything on your own afterwards, what's best suited for your hair.. but make sure to try most of the things to make sure you didn't miss what's good for your hair... All the best!

Qs about dreading fine asian hair

General Questions

I wash my hair every 5 or 6 days because that's when my hair starts getting oily... you don't have to follow a specific routine.. just go and wash your hair whenever it starts getting oily because that's no good for the locking up process.. it slows down the locking process massively.. Before, I tried Dr. Bronners shampoo but it left very sticky residue in my hair... the water is slightly basic here.. so I wash with BS solution with a little more BS than soaring eagle recommended and after that I rinse my hair with ACV as recommended... and about other essential oils, I never used them (that's because I don't have them in reach and I'm too lazy to go search for it..even in internet..).. I guess that'd help..

wow man, that looks mad awesome!! Its great to see older dreadies on similar hair. A couple qs.
How often did you wash your hair? & with what?
Would bakin soda with water be a good wash on its own without the vinegar? i also have tea tree.

hey dude, I've got the exact hair type as yours... and yes, it takes forever to form dreadlock in our type of hair if you choose the neglect method. All you need is great great patience.. I've been on this journey for fourteen months now and if you wanna know the progress, it is as same as the other people with 4 months. All you need to do is just don't give up. or you can backcomb or tnr if you wanna make it a little bit faster and then go through neglect method again (i wished i did that before because it's so slow process but i don't regret too..). and about the loose tips, most of my baby dreads have 3 to 4 inches of loose tips, one dread even has about 5... i wish they dreaded too but let's see..

and I had one dread done with tnr method but the tips got loosened up. I've got about 3 inches of loose tips now. But the base is getting dreaded.

Guitar Learner

Introduce Yourself

I am also a self taught guitarist...
Most of the things, I learned throgh the software Guitar pro 5 and 5.2, now they've got 6..
I think I don't have to tell you about the website ultimateguitar.com where you can find almost all the guitar tabs and chords and everything about guitar...
But I am searching for a good software where I could compose my music, I could also use guitar pro but I can't read notations and the software is little complicated for me...

For people with super fine straight hair, [Some motivation]

General Talk

yea, same with me, my friends always tell me to get it done professionally too but I never listened to them...
You can't enjoy the every single step that your hair goes through.. I always give them one example, it's quite funny but works..hahaa
I tell them that getting professionally done dreadlocks is similar to marrying a girl you're not in love with, yes, you can show other people that she is your wife, you can always get a company but you're not really happy with her.. Dreads are not about showing off..
I know that's a bit stupid but it convinces them... :D:D

For people with super fine straight hair, [Some motivation]

General Talk

For the people who are thinking of starting the neglect dreadlock journey and the people who have already started the journey but doubting if dreadlock will form in their super fine straight quaity of hair type, I have attached two photos (before starting and after 11 months) with this post if you'd like to check. Yea, unlike other people it's not that easy to form dreadlocks in this type of hairs but you need a 'lot of Patience' and time. I needed 11 months to reach till this point. So, people, don't give up and don't doubt about not forming dreadlocks on your hair type. Peace.

How to cut my dreadlocks

General Questions

hey, that just explains how bad you want dreadlocks. But why are you giving up anyway?
At least, you have 12 solid dreads. I've been doing this past 11 months and all of my progress is 3 little baby dreadlocks at the backside of my hair which is not even getting any harder. I think you should give it a little time. Some of us are kinda unfortunate that it takes quite a considerable amount of time to have fully matured dreadlocks. Else, you can try another methods like twist and rip if you really think that it is the end point for you. If one method fails, there's always another. I have seen many dreadheads who followed another processes and yet, their hair looks supercool. I'm suggesting you not to cut it because your topic just explains how much effort you've put through all those years and how desperately you want it. Well, just like me in a way...:)
And does messy hair really bothers hiking btw??? :DDD
Well, that was just my opininon, I don't know if it was helpful because you said you're going to cut it anyway. But if my hair doesn't show any progress in 2 years and I become sick n tired of it, I'd rather crochet or twist and rip than cut it because I've been dreaming alot about dreads and I really really want it!
:D peace!
