Dread Maintenance

Awesome, thanks. I kinda figured it'd go away with time (with lots of hoping)

Parts

Dread Maintenance

Alright so when I started my dreads I didnt do anything with my part and now not sure what to do. If I leave it be will I still be able to manipulate my locks when they are more mature? (right now I can't throw my hair up beacuse of the part) I'm afraid the only way to fix it is to start over and I don't want to do that, I love my dreads and how far they have come in such a short period of time. What should I do about it?

HELP! Did I screw up???

General Talk

I separate them daily, wet and dry, I just can't seem to get the roots separated. Like the very top 3 are kinda fused together at the root but separate after that and under those are the other 2 that one king one at the base but become two after that. I've thought about gently snipping them apart, but I feel that's kinda extreme but idk

HELP! Did I screw up???

General Talk

Okay so I'm just shy of two months in on my all natural dread journey. I can't see me dreads, only feel them. The ones in the back (about 5 or 6) are kinda like connected toward my scalp and then branch off. The ones on. The side of my head are all completely separate. Now I know this isn't an overnight process, but my husband says that the back is horrible and I should brush it out and start over. I feel that I should just leave them alone and continue letting them do their thing and be patient, but now he has made me feel like I screwed up. Is it okay that they are more one then branch out or what? Thanks in advance for the help.

Article Critique: "White People and Dreadlocks: A Problematic Union"

History and Religious Significance

@ Marc. Okay, I understand everyone's points here, but I have one issue. Marc you listed off many racial words but cunt doesn't fit it is a word that refers to the vagina (I personally find cunt to be a beautiful word use it on a fairly regular basis and find no offence in it). Now the only thing I can figure is (and I may be mistaken here) that cunt is a reference to the word squaw which for years has been a misunderstood word. Squaw doesn't mean cunt it means simply woman (as a whole, not any one body part) it was misinterpreted a couple hundred years ago and people ran with it. There's my two cents

How many dreads do you have ?

General Questions

27 with a small section of undreaded hair that may one day make 28, but I'll just have to wait and see with that. They are all different sizes but I suppose about medium for most of them.
