Quick shrink?

Dread Maintenance

Oh yeah! Cute! I think I lost an inch or two this month, it seemed to creep up on me

^^About this time a month ago

^^Yesterday (on another thread, too)

I still have some stranglers of the length before, but are quickly shrinking up :)

How did you feel about it shrinking? I know some people feel a bit weird about their hair shrinking. I like short hair so it doesn't bother me lol

Quick shrink?

Dread Maintenance

Like one shower and WHOOP! Short! When I had to tie my hair back for lab I noticed that my ponytail was way short compared to what I was used to. While at first it freaked me out, but now Im kinda stoked :) They will be 6 months old in a week and a half :)

Has anyone else had this happen? Did your babies shrink like in what seemed to be overnight? Just curious!

Lots of pictures!

Day 1

~2 weeks

~3 weeks

1 month

Just shy of 2 months

2 months :)

Getting a little loopy :)

My hair on top gets loopy too but my hair is constantly changing now, loops emerging one day, gone the next. Heres my two favorite babies :)

And, last but not least, the thunderbolt. Usually at the end of the day it kinda sticks out (not the best picture of it, from a different angle its seriously like a thunderbolt) I think its rad

Almost 5 months!!!

1 week shy of 6 months!

So, now I just leave em alone?? ;)So patience

Dread Maintenance

I started with t&r too and mine are almost 2 months old. My hair feels like velcro too but every day they seem to change. One day they look kind of loopy and other days not and a little looser. I think Ive had to separate 4 times total because they change so much, right when I seem to think they might need to be separated, after a washing theyre not needing to be separated. Im starting to just forget about them and live my life, which is awesome :) Patience is key (which is super duper hard) :) Good luck :)

Hello :)

Introduce Yourself

Cool :) Plus my skin has cleared up so much. I would always wear it to cover blemishes but Ive realized if I didnt wear it I dont have the blemishes. I am totally enjoying my journey as well :)

Hello :)

Introduce Yourself

Hi all!

I also registered on the other site and now Im over here too.

My dreads will be a couple months old in few days (Yay!) .

I am an engineering student, the mother of an awesome 3 year old daughter and have decided to not torture my skin, hair and body to give myself the illusion of feeling better about myself. I gave up all makeup months ago and one month ago I decided to give up control of my hair.

Every day my life gets better and better :)

(and busier and busier)

fussing with dreads!

Dread Maintenance

I used to a lot but I dont as much anymore. While everyone's hair is different, the less I play with them, the quicker they progress. I just had a 4 day poor-mans vacation to the local hospital (I'm fine now) but I didnt play with them or touch them at all during that time and they finally started to lock up closer to the roots now :) I will definitely be making an effort not to mess with them anymore, I guess my hair doesn't like being messed with.

What do you wash with?

Dread Maintenance

I (unfortunately) live in Southern California. I have found that sometimes the BS does seem to feel buildup-y. I have Dr. Bronner's to use for around the house but I think I am going to try it for my hair. BS/ACV seems to leave my hair feeling like straw and if I use more vinegar it feels...well, gross. What dilution should I use to try Dr. Bronner's?

PS: Just because it pisses me off, I have shampoo that claims to be "no-residue" but when I use it, the baby dreads throw a fit and unravel. This bums me out. :(
