"So if I crocheted my hair after twist and rip should I take them out and give it a re-do? I'm only a month in so wouldn't be an issue. Or will it fix itself?"

crochets extremely damaging and taking them out you'll lose handfuls of broken hairs

they will recover but very slowly crochet (if tight) will delay dreading by 6 months and take 3 years to lose the stiffness

the loose ones will dread the fastest, they need to be loose in order to move and knot
