I had the same issue. For now, go find some cute headbands, scarves, whatever you can to hide the bangs. Then just wait it out, about 4 months. Your bangs will get used to not being washed, and over time you can work with them. using the baking soda really helps. also, if they are longer you can just band em, braid em, and lay them back. I do that and it looks pretty cute.
