I don't know if I need to separate my hair ?

That is my head! Knots are starting to form in my hair and I don't know if I should seperate the BIG BIG knots that look weird.In the back of my neck there is a HUGE knot.. When am I supposed to separate my hair? Am I supposed to do it now? And how do I do it?

Well, they're all going to look pretty weird and uneven/bumpy/loopy for at least a few months. From the picture they look like they're doing just what they should be, seperating and sectioning naturally. When you move one locs and the one next to it moves too, that's when I think it's time to gently pull them apart. Its least painful and easiest to do when they're wet. Hope this helps , they look like they're coming along. Trust them and be patient, they will do whatever they want. Its a spontaneous and awesome journey let me know I'd you have any questions lady.
