New Dreads
I just got new dreads yesterday at a salon on 2/27/11. I chose to do the backcombing method with palm rolling and little wax. I am hawaiian and part samoan so my hair is kinky andsmall curl or wavesbut really gets nappy after im out of the ocean. My new dreads have kinky liitle hairs pointing out all over my dreads and my roots are not really dreaded yet. "My new dreads really look nappy with little kinky hairs coming out." My quetion is " Is this a natural process for new dreads?" Thank all who answer

well you can use the wax removers but thats extremely hard to remove while its backcombed (easier since theyre so new) easiest way tho is comb em out scrub with dawn dish soap then start over
its not partialy dreaded its just backcombed and gunked in wax when u start iver either naturaly or twist and rip it will actualy dread much faster wax only makes it look like dreads only time makes actual dreads and just swimmingt in the ocean and not combing is the best way to dread by far
but u can scrub with dawn soak in vinager boil them carefully and hopeful;l get most out

fursure thanks for the advice. What are methods I can use to remove the wax? And when i remove the wax will my hair be partly dreaded still?
u went to a salon huge mistake and u got wax in them u should demand your money back and start over u got to get that wax out!! wax is pure evil
and then do nothing just go in the ocean thats akll u need is to swim in the ocean it will drewad on its own
but it will never dread with wax in there
