thank you for the encouragement. i am going to give it a few months hoping my hair bounces back, if not i will probably shave and start fresh. i dont think i am balding, i have looked at pictures of my over the years and my hair line hasn't reallyreceded and i havent been getting a bald spot where my dad's is. im probably being too critical too soon since they are only 5 months old and have been through alot with backcombing and then conditioning the front ones apart to make smaller ones.
i could be going bald, always an option. my dad is pretty bald but my grandpa on my mom's side had thick head of hair. i am not sure what is up, it was initially back combed into one big dread, i took it out and made smaller ones. my hair was back combed 5 months ago, the ones i took out and put back in are only 3 months old, i havent touched them since the were backcombed other than separating. i don't care if i need to shave and start over, just dont want to jump the gun if its repairable.
So I see a bit of balding going on. Is that a genetic thing? I have early baldness all over my mom's side of the family. Her mom had thin hair, her dad was q-ball balled, her brother is bald, his son is about 10 years older than me, and has thinning hair. I'm 26 and have thinning hair. So it could be that.
But... It looks like you may be twisting your locks a bit. Are you? That would definitely explain what's going on there

Nah, no reason to worry. Like I said, I'm going bald. You don't see me shaving my head.
Give it a while to heal. It could just need some time to fill in.
Ad your dad's side doesn't matter. it's all on your mom's side
