had a lil disaster while typing that comment..our pet pig karma got a whiff of some gram crackers and tried climbing cross the keyboard to get em..his lil hooves had no tracktion and hes sliding all over trying to get at the food, shut down the computer and knocked off 3 keys...still cant find the esc key..hope he didnt eat it..lol

welcome rainbow!rainbow sister you already took the 1st step...wanting dreads,, for me and many thats the only step you need to take, look at the rainbow dreadies group, pretty much all of them dreaded by attending a rainbow gathering and allowing the dreads to form. some intentionaly, some without even wanting dreads.dreads are your natural state of your hair..it wants to sdread..stop preventing it and it will happen..however..yiu can take steps to speed it up or add control..just the more you do, the more dammage gets done they weaken and dont last as long (in many cases) ..you can get away with doing a fair ammount without severe problems, but it can add up if yu obsessively work on them...overworked dreads usualy dont last too long...natural dreads can last a lifetime..its your choice to make wether you want to put alot of effort into it (often accompanied by frustration) or sit back and enjoy the ride
