less then 1% of dread salons in the world have a clue about how to properly care for dreads the reason they call them locs not locks or dreads or dreadlocks is cause they want to set thier versions of locks apart from the real thing and make itshameful to wear them if you havent spent enough money to get them
so dont be ashamed to spell locks right
just wash em proprrly keep them clean and they will do the rest though it won't happen overnight they won't look perfect rigt away it wil take some timeto ature
they are like your children you nurture themkand trustthey will turn out alright instead of using brute force to attemptto force them to turn out the way you want and instead end up with homicidal psychopath junkiues that were traumatized by the way you tried to force them to be somethingother tyhen what they wanted to be
dread cares alot like that just let them be what they want to be they want to lock so olet them its as easy as stopping the products and processes that were preventing them from locking
you can gently guide by seperating those that try to form too big etc but dont use brute forcce to force them to lock dont use products that restrain them that hold them
give them the freedom to just become
lemon juice is citric acid a relatively strong acid theres industrial strength dissolving agents like dis solv it that are made from orange oil that dissolve all adhesives tars caulks glues even rubber
when you use lemon juice in your hair it penewtrates inside the hair shaft several layers to where the pigments are when exposed to heat or sunlight it causes bleaching but even when not exposted to heat it slowly breaks down the hair dissolving it from the inside
washing will make it dread though it will get frizzy after each wash it will tighten between washes washing helps it knot sleeping helps it tighten being loose to move freely helps it knot salons do all they can to make it harder to lock in order to keep you coming back you say every 2 weeks how much a visit 30-50
some people have spent 15-20 thousand on dread salons only to end up with dreads breaking off and balding
so spend plenty of time here reading all youcan
1 last thing
stop using hot water when washing that will really drythe scalp out way more
welcome 1 never use lemon juice in your hair!!!! 2 never go to anyu salons efver 3 wash way more often weekly is a minumum 2 times a weeks even better 3 never retwist retwistiung causes traction alopecia and balding all you need is wash more often and separate as needeedd thats it the hot oil treatments might really slow progress instead use jojoba on the scalp as needed
