Welcome to the Dreadlockssite mobile site, Here you will learn all you need to know to grow beautiful, healthy, natural dreadlocks, without the need for expensive kits, products, or salons.
Dreading, the easy healthy way
Dreadlocks can be allowed to happen, this is the natural method, or can be forced to dread. Dreading methods that use force cause harm, therefore the less force used, the less harm is caused. Some methods rely on brute (or brutal) force in an attempt to make dreads appear mature in a day. These methods tend to delay progress, even though they appear to be mature real maturity takes much longer, or may never be reached at all.
Here at Dreadlockssite we prefer gentle methods that allow the hairs natural tendency to dread on its own to do most, if not all of the work.
Hair can be tangled with the gentlest of breezes, or the roughest and most painful hours of hair pulling and poking with tools. We believe dreading should be a pleasurable experience, not a painful one.
Dreading the cheap or free way
Dreadlocks born at a salon as an example can cost nearly $1000 to start, then $60 every 2 weeks for washing and maintenance. The methods used and the fact that they tend to tell you not to wash or wet the hair for up to a year makes it harder to dread, not easier. After several months to a few years you can spend thousands of dollars on dreads that are weakened, and may even lead to balding (due to the roots being forced to be too tight). In some cases use of wax and harsh chemicals has even lead to medical bills for a grand total of over $10,000 and dreads that were a complete mess.
We believe in doing dreads yourself, for free, with only a good shampoo and some all natural oils as the only products you need. No special tools, only hands are required.
