“Dance is active meditation. When we [trance]dance, we go beyond thought, beyond mind, and beyond our own individuality… To become one in the divine ecstasy of union with the cosmic spirit.”

im glad i found this group. I started hooping last summer and it's my new passion. I love the feeling of being free with my hoop and doing moves as i become more comfortable with the new ones. Im still learning yet so is there any moves you could inform me of so i can proceed on my hooping :)
Comment by Samantha on August 19, 2010 at 9:17pm
Fellow hoopers: What are some of your favorite moves to do?

had a really pleasant hour or too earlier juggling my balls rings and clubs, bit to windy for the hankies but nevermind!

It's said that " an amateur practises intill they get it right and a professional practises til they never get it wrong"

i think thats a great philosophy!

I spun fire hoops for a few months until I found fire poi and never looked back :)
I loooove fire, and having a fun excuse to play with it is awesome. Spinning to drums is the most liberating feeling ever..... I truly feel like this awkward meatsuit is one with the mother then. (Until i set myself on fire lol)
One of my favorite things at festies is watching all the pretty hippie mawmas chase their hoops around :D
Comment by Didjeridurian on October 13, 2009 at 11:32am
lol yea I didn't know it was called poi either until wayy after I had been doing it at raves. I just called it "glowies on shoestrings" lol. At that time I probably thought poi was some kind of polynesian food.
Of course back then I was getting whacked out of my mind every day of the week.
