To undo what I did & thinking truly let it be? thoughts & opinions, experiences :)

Dreading Methods

Well now you know that they won't look like everyone else's and if you are content with that then all is well. :)

Thank you Crystal for your kind thoughts!! :D It's neat there are people who've had the same emotions because it's kinda of hard to explain but more feel.. I see what your saying about the guiding by eyes, hands with the spirit, but starting my journey I started with the intention to basically have them 'look like everyone else's' ya know what i mean? :P Kinda of silly but at the time I did not understand but knew I had to start dreading my hair.Your dreads are lovely & I hope you have a wonderful journey! We are always learning, beautiful thing :) I don't want to be fifty and not have learned a thing -take care & peace

In my opinion, your eyes and hands are guided by your spirit, so your spirit had quite the influence on what you began to create. Truly it is up to you, I hope you find peace with whatever you decide. I felt the same around this time in my dread journey. I decided to just let it be from there. Still traveling along, still learnin

how much length will i lose?

Dreading Methods

I lost quite a bit of length with some of my thicker dreads, and barely any at all with other dreads. Started with hair half-way down my back and now 6+ months in some is shoulder length and some close to my waist if you count the tips. :) Kinda like it's layered-ish. It all changes all the time so I don't expect anything, just observe. :)

ripping issues

Help! Save My Dreads

I'm glad you posted this, I have one dread in the back of my hair that just wants to split down the middle, from the root to about have way down it had become 2 dreads but still one dread from about half way down to close to the tip. I've been tempted to just rip it in half, but figured I should just let the hair do what it's going to do. Now I am confident that is the healthiest thing I could do. I hope you find peace with your dreadies, I'm sure they'll be fine if you let them be. :)

white people with dreadlocks

History and Religious Significance

I found the same, many sites claiming white people with dreadlocks look stupid and such...and shouldn't wear them. I just thought "whatever" seriously, anyone can wear anything and it shouldn't matter.

shrinkage, lumps, balls, tails and loose roots!

Dread Maintenance

I'm at about 5 months and some of my hair is doing the same and shrunk right up all lumpy with long stringy ends, some not dreading at all it seems and some smooth long round dreadies. You are not alone and from what I've seen on here, some of the most unique and beautiful dreads started this way. It appears to calm down a ton after the first year and start looking more like whatwe are expecting. We cannot have a perfect dread picture in our heads though and expect them to turn out that way, they will probably not look how we think we want them to but I'm sure they will be gorgeous. Time and patience and no worries! It's fun this way!

the tribe thought these strange green papers were like frogs skins and couldnt figure out what they were for

custar and his men were watching as the women started sewin onto ripped loinclothes and jackets making patches as kids played with these strange frog skins like toys as warriors wiped theyre asses with them

and custar and his men went insane
