6 months and tons of loops

Dread Maintenance

Ive been dreading for 6 months and my hair is getting crazy. i was using maylees shampoo bar the whole time and just recently switched to neutrogena anti residue. Its making my hair dread a million times faster and im starting to get tons of loops. How long does this stage last? Will all my hair shrink? my oldest dreads shrunk a lot and im hoping i dont lose all my length.

Time of Day to Wash

Dread Maintenance

I washed my hair right before i went to sleep and i woke up with crazy bed head. My hair dried all kinds of weird ways from sleeping on it! I recommend washing in the day, your hair dries in a more natural way i think.

Mildew worries, how concerned should i be about dread-rot? and what do you think of Dr. Bronners?

Dread Products

So do beads and other accessories make your dreads smell?

jonny is just trying to create a monopoly on dreasds everything will destroy your dreads but his shit wich actualy does destroy your drewdsa

for 12 years i used any old shampoo then i switched to bronners and finaly to baking ssoda

baking soda cleaned the best and solved my severe scalp issues so i stuck with it

i only had musty dreads from too huge of beads or putting on a tam when they were wet

it is so fucked up that jonna dares warmn against light easy to remove residues while telling u to use a heavy impossible to remove one

if u read that site for tips make sure the tips are for what not to dio..do not trust 1 single thing from that site..it is all wring..all..not 1 good peice of uindo at all

Separating dreads

Introduce Yourself

I didnt section them out i just grabbed random pieces of hair. the biggest pieces are probably an inch thick, maybe a little more. Ive looked through pictures on here and their dreads look full. mine kinda look patchy probably because of my loose roots. I have 29

how big are they are they really too big ober an inch at the roots? if noty ifd leave em alone

ripping them apart is an invasive pricess thats definately best to be done early if at all but if theyre new enough to be undone and redonne thats better still but if they really arent too teribly big id leave em alone

the loose ones leave em they'll dread on up on theyre own

Separating dreads

Introduce Yourself

I TnRed my hair dec 22nd and im wondering when the best time to separate some fatter dreads are? I have places on the back of my head that are really patchy so i want to make more back there. Would it be easier to tear them apart now since they're not locked yet? Or should i wait for them to mature? i wash my hair every 2 days so some of the tnr came out and now i have some places where its loose sections. Should i re-do them or let them dread naturally?

Is this ok to put on mydreads for frizzies?

Dread Products

its called Zum Rub its made in my city and they sell it at organic stores. It says it can be used for frizzies on the package. The ingredients include: sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, shea butter, goats milk, and essential oils and vitamins. Im wondering if it has the same effect as wax and will stay in my dread or wash out.
