General Questions

The best saying I was told about dreading is " the easiest way to dread is to let go, the hardest part of dreading is letting go "

General Questions

My hair was 12" when I started. All my back combed dreads in the front fell out. So I went neglect. I'm a year and 1 month in and it just started dreading.

Tube head scarf

Dread Accessories

I'm going to say it doesn't help. I have tried one on they tend to compress the hair on the scalp restricting movement and the back part holds all your hair in one spot without much movement making it try to all knot together rather then sections.

Help! Save My Dreads

This is not my picture just similar to what my wife's roots are like. They can be separated by pulling apart but there so matted you can't separate from the root up.

General Talk

got a sample from vicki of charcoal detox shampoo its the only shampoo that actually keeps my hair dry but not brittle, it removes all oil and helps knotting! here is a pic of my hair currently. Took a year to start seeing progress but its getting better everyday now!

So i should just go for it it and stop worrying so much

Yes try to embrace the changes. Control is something humans try to do so much. The less we try to control the less stressful it is. You'll have your up and down days. But in the end it will workout.

Help! Save My Dreads

Some people can't stand them I guess lol I think they add character. My wife wants to cut her loops off she has about 20/30" of a crazy loopy mess. I told her she should keep them as nobody else will ever have dreads with those loops.

Help

Help! Save My Dreads

From what I've noticed some hair tends to dread more loopy and shape clubs.. however the hair that grows from the root will appear more uniform. The ends of the dreads make there own unique shapes in the form of zigzags, club shapes etc. Some people cut those off after fully dreaded others embrace the uniqueness.

☮ soaring eagle ॐ:

they do look extremely conditioning

you see most shampoos have some form of water as the 1st ingredient (dreadlockshampo.com uses a highest quality organic beer instead of water) these have all conditioning oils as the 1st ingredients ..indian hairs prized for its smooth silkiness and stuff like this would keep it smooth and silky

I just checked my bucks co shampoo and distilled water is the first ingredient.. beer is 4th.
