Hello, New to the site need advice for my dreads

Introduce Yourself

i also have big balls of hair on the end of my dreads (neglect at 9 months now). I was also wondering the same thing but i guess it's natural and they will work themselves out and if they don't oh well, your hair will have more character for it!

hellloooooo :) (does this even belong here?)

Introduce Yourself

maybe you could put a small bell on the end of the dread you twist the most so when you twist it makes a noise letting you know to stop? i don't know if it would work or just annoy you when walking but might work you never know =)

Introduce Yourself

i have to try some things to keep my hands busy too, as i have a bad habit of picking the skin near the side of my thumb nails (nasty i know). I've picked at my thumbs for so long i have desensitized the area and don't even feel myself doing it most of the time. One thing you could try is to keep something on your wrist like an elastic band or something and play with that when you find yourself twisting. Alternatively you could turn a ring over so the gem is facing the palm of your hand and play with that? Oh and HHIII!

Is there anyone who's hair won't lock?

Dreading Methods

Hey, It's fine to wear a bandana or something, just remember the less your hair is allowed to be free flowing the longer it will take to dread. I started natural 5 months ago at really short hair and I have been loving it. If you want to get an idea of what the process is like check out the members timelines and journals section of the website where you can see different people and different hair styles and how each dread uniquely. peace

true enough if it wasn't dreads it would be something else and that's the saddest thing about it, that said i wouldn't yell anything back at them because that would just be continuing the hate and you can't teach anyone anything that way in my opinion.

thats a compliment

but from an idiot too stupid to realize its a compliment

but when i roam around the city yea ppl yell out thier car windows but its always respect or nice dreads

just yell back.. fucking nobody

cause thats why they are angry they are nobody..nothing afraid to be anything but bland conformity blending in if it wasnt the dreads it would be something else just the color of your shirt or soes is enough tgo get an insult out of idiots like that

why do you care? be proud of who you are
hell we'd all be doomed without the fucking hippies

dont mistake stupidity for juegment

and dont forget som,e ppl will judge you simply for mbeing a man.. are yoi9u going to castrate yourself ato awvoid being judged for being make/

fuck em,

be stronger then that

be prouder then that

just pitty them for thier ignorance and be happy your not them

well you're very lucky then because every week i get some sort of insult from someone however i do live in a city and i travel through the city center to get to work, just last week i was walking and someone shouted from their car "fucking hippy" like i said we just have different experiences thanks for taking the time to talk to me about it though =)

how you perceived they look at you is distorted by your thoughts look how many opl feel hated all the time or the flip side women whbo feel loved by the guys that strangle beat and setthem on fire

yes many people said things and others merely look at you like they didn't before, in a kind of disdainful way that i would think you have also experienced? maybe i work in an area less open minded than the areas you usually visit or maybe it is the case that it's all in my head either way learning to accept myself and others more and more is an ongoing process, one that at the moment i'm feeling positive about.

question how can you tell someones negatively judging you in the spaCE OF A 20 SECOND TRANSACTION did anyone actualy ever say anything? or wass it the thoughts in your head saying your being judged cause most of us dreads get nothing but support excvept for from that 1 in a thousand hell closer to 1 in 10,000 or less in all my years dreading and meeting hundreds of thousands of ppl i can think of just 2 maybe 3 that i felt judged me negativly

alotta the times its our own negative feelings that give us that perception

in a way its like asperrgers when someone smiles u think they are mocking you etc its the same if you feel unworthy or like you should be judged negativly for your choices then you will feekl like everyones thinkikng bad thoughts about you while in reality they maybe envios
