Care for dry babe dreads...

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Hello friends !

I would need an advice...

My babe dreads (5 months now) are getting very good and natural) but are drier (winter will be coming and is very dry in MOntreal) Before having dreads i always took care of my hair making witch homemade potion to let all night (advocado, shea butter, monoi oil, essential oils...)

I eat healthy with essentially fruits and vegetables and vegan proteins sources...

What kind of care i could offer my dreads to nurter, water, hydrate them (mixture to let all night in a scarf) i could just rince without residue ??

Hello my friends

I have just took new photos ( my kids did it for me my babe dreads are now 4 months old

What a daily journey, i love it !

Seasalt is useful, sleeping.. making love !... but what i found helped the most is beads and little sections wrap with hem.. it created a kind of natural knot (congestion) begining a dread like that..

This is a marvel of every day, feeling , hearing the hair grow, breath, feeling the wind as wings, bathing in the rain, touching elements from so close.. connecting to earth (as a good little taurus !)

the hemp i found is natural, no wax for sure !!

so i need to replace almost every 1 month my hemp, while i see hair hanging around ?

i wash every 2 days with wonderful Vicki dragonblood soaps and spray once every 2 days with seasalt, sleeping on my wool pullover ...

the idea was to immitate beads.. but my as my natural sections seems to be small, i didn't find beads small enough !!

If you're going to use hemp, why not wrap them with a bigger section of hemp? There's nothing bad about hemp. That and embroidery thread are the best things to wrap lock with. Bands are bad, like you said, but hemp won't hurt them

I thought it wasn't right bigger sections... how much time should i keep my hemp sections ? will the hemp 'melt' naturally or break ? i donnot want it to be "swallowed" in my future locks

Hello friends !

I am 1 month and half ..

i use nice Vicki soaps and seasalt too..

I read on the forums about wrapping and rubber bands to accelerate the dreading process... well, not good stuff it seems ! I want to grow natural healthy strong dreads.... my hair are naturally sectioning... seems small sections like 0,4mm !!

What do you think about wraping each "section" by only turning 2 to 3 times around at the same place 9like a rubber band) with hemp cord and knot then , at 1 inch from the root ? thank you to help me

Thank you very much to you each of you for your warm and encouraging comments.... patience is something i never have enough !!... so it is a good exercise !... but marvelling is more my cupoftea, so it is not so difficult !

each day changes my travel, each day is a new little step full of surprises, each day is an opportunity to marvel... it is a pleasure to go to sleep and lean on my lover friend pull over ! makes wonder !

To answer Noodle Doo, i print one of a kind clothes and accessories, by hand only using different kinds of techniques... i will open my shop on ETSY in some days !!

i am a also a traveller musician with my accordion.. but infortunately, somebody broke my door and entered while i wasn't there and stole my accordion... no instrument to play anymore.. and the sun is at my door

Life brings always mournings and miracles, i am a believer and positive person and ....Life will bring a solution I am confident

Here are photos after a month of neglect... using all perfect stuff of Vicki !!! and sleeping on a wool pullover wrapped on my pillow like a lover !!!

I love to feel wind, water, sun, ... elements everywhere around, in, under.... my little babe dreadlocks...
