I made the mistake of going to a barber to get the loose hair around my hairline trimmed. They severed half the roots on 5 dreadlocks: 3 by my ears, and 2 back of the neck. What should I do to minimize the damage done?
Half of the root is still in the place, the other half is sticking out, removed from the scalp.

Hey guys, I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with dreadlocks and BJJ. Clean mats tend to get sweaty and dirty by the end of a training session, and i'm pretty sure my dreads come into contact with all of it/soak it up like a sponge. Have any of you had any scalp problems, ring worm, or staph infections from grappling? I usually wash my dreads once a week, or if I train a lot that week, the day of/immediate day after a training session. What kind of shampoos did you use or what additional methods did you take to make sure they stayed nice, clean, and bacteria free? Your responses are greatly appreciated! -Nick
