After trying baking soda and apple cider rinses for over a week, my scalp was in rebellion (dandruff, crusty bumps, tenderness, etc). The problem was, I think, I was not using enough acv to balance out the severe alkalinity of the baking soda. HOWEVER if I used the right amount of acv, it would end up conditioning my hair way too much.
I recently switched back to Vicki's Just 4 Dreads shampoo, and it's safe to say that I will not be using anything else for a looong time.
My scalp says "thanks, Vicki!"

Yeah.. Most on here say 2 hours is more than enough for the salt water..
dave - nice, though i personally would not recommend buying any kind of locking accelerator, just because the proprietary ingredient in nearly all of them is water and sea salt. the other ingredients are usually there just to make it so you can leave it in your hair longer without the salt being overly drying/damaging. It's very cheap to make your own however, if you're just using salt and water, don't leave it in your hair for more than 2-8 hours i would say. some may disagree with that timeframe
however, my past experience is saltwater does wonders for dreading hair
cheers
Looking good Cody!! I used an Dread Empire accelerator after washing last night. Feels good today. See what it is like in a couple of weeks.
Cheers Dave
