Welcome. I assume you used wax. Wax is only going to prevent locking. Even if done in small quantities. It only gives the illusion of locks by sticking your hair together into cylinders. And because it's a hydrocarbon, it will NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. It needs a detergent to clean it out, and a lot of scrubbing and time.

How many times did you use it?
