I hear you brother, I got interlocked when I first started my journey 9 months ago. I went to one of the best natural hair stylists in the state as well. Twisting is very harsh on the scalp, it literally pulls hair out by the roots. If you have little white spots at the ends of the hairs sticking out, that's the actual hair root follicle. Your roots are already starting to show the signs of traction alopecia. Stop retwisting, look at my picks there can be recovery from damage, but the sooner you stop the better.Get the wax out, it holds onto everything, sweat, scalp oil, dirt, lint. One run was all I needed to figure out that I didn't need that nasty funk on my head. I've tried the Jamacian Mango & Lime, is it better then wax? Yes of course it's water based & washes out. But I have found that leaves way too much residue. The gel that Vickey (the artisan soap maker from dreadlock shampoo linked to on this site) makes is very light and works well with very little residue. Her lock up shampoos are great too, she uses Sea Salt in her products which really helps the locking process. Peace & blessings bro & keep us posted.
