Welcome. I guess I don't have to go into the dangers of wax. Eagle already did. And it's all true. Wax is a hydrocarbon. That means it's waterproof. No amount of boiling hot water and normal soap will ever get it all out. You need a good detergent to clean out wax. And as long as it stays in, mold will have a better chance of growing

welcome im from philly too but got to warn ypou wax is a huge mistake u myst remove the wax

also stop twisting

wax facts

it just glues hair together but prevents any acvtual dreaduiing

it traps doirt and watrer leading to mold and mildew and dread rot

it never washes out..ever you need to agressivly remove it with wx b gone from www.dreadlockshampoo.com

its the number 1 dread killer and 95% of wax dreads get cut in 1st 3-4 years cause they get gross

twisting facts twisting over tightens the roots exposing the scalp thinning the roots and causing traction alopecia which causes thi9nning dreads broken dreads and widespread balding

if you remove the wax and stop twisting they will recover

Welcome. Eagle's right about using an actual shampoo. And Coconut oil is a conditioner. If your hair is not extremely dry, normally, don't bother with it
