Welcome. Unfortunately the baby shampoo is probably a bad call. Most shampoos leave some residue when you wash. Not always a lot, but always some. Heather and Eagle would know better about baby shampoos.
You don't need to use something so gentle on your hair anyway. Check out the soaps from Dreadlockshampoo.com. They make the best products around. Dr. Bronners is great if you have soft water. And many members love the baking soda/apple cider vinegar wash. But that, too, doesn't work in hard water
Hi Rachel, welcome to the site. How is your journey going? You are using moisturizing shampoo which is probably slowing down the process for you and will leave a shampoo residue inside your dreads which will build up in time. There is great shampoos and soaps on the site dreadlockshampoo.com or you can use the dreaducation page at the top of the site for washing recipes. A great no touch method is to mix 1/2 cup baking soda to 5 cups water, pour on head and leave for 20 minutes, no scrubbing. Rinse very well and then condition & balance it with 1 capfull applecider vinegar to 5 cups water, pour on head and leave for 1 minute only and rinse well. That's it! Stay away from all moisturizing and conditioning shampoos. Happy dreading & Cheers
Welcome and Happy Dreading.

Welcome. It's never too late to start. When you switch to the BS/ACV wash, make sure to check out the ratios and never mix the BS and ACV together
