welcome but crochet is extremely bad for dreads all your doing is breaking hairs wich then pop out so you crochet them back in ..breaking more your creating the need to crochet vby crocheting
and its only causing them to get weaker and weaker

All it does to locks is rip your hair into tiny pieces, which makes them weaker and weaker. They get frizzy because of these broken hair, and make it feel like you need to crochet over and over again. If you only used it once to start, that's not as bad But using it for maintenance, thins out your roots and can cause locks to fall out because of the weigh of them pulling on such thin roots
