@Loc Lava thank you. I truly enjoyed making them. Usually the dolls are whatever I find. I prefer to use the used ones that will never be bought by anyone again. I like giving them a second life.
@ BleeckerBetty thank you so much for your sweet words. It is nice to hear someone else say it. Yes it was definitely a vicious cycle that had to be broken! I was able to gain strength through daily meditations and lots of yoga. Oh and lots of good music and dancing! Shaking off the negativity clearing it away and grounding myself and making way for an abundance of love and positivity. I believe it all begins with the self.
We do celebrate X-mas but we don't get all biblical and crazy about it. I consider myself pagan. And my husband connects more with Taoism. My son is neutral. I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with love and laughter and lots of creativity! :0)

@Trina -- I hear you, sis'. You've got a healthy attitude. Good for you that you took a stand and refused to stay stuck in all that negative judgment and mental abuse. I know how hard it is to let go of blood relations who behave like that. It's so easy to get stuck either feeling like there's no escape -- or often feeling like you can "fix" them and feeling responsible for making them change their ways. You deserve to have a happy, healthy, positive life and something tells me you've been able to build a more loving "family" of beloved friends you've met over the years in addition to growing your own beautiful family with your hubby and sweet Leo. I hope you hear this enough, but your son is so lucky to have you as a guiding, nurturing influence in his life. Your creativity and artistic gifts...your awareness, warmth, compassion and love. You're helping him embrace and love himself (especially his gorgeous, natural locks), side-stepping all the harsh judgments and negativity you were exposed to. That's a huge hurdle. You've broken the cycle, chica. I don't know what you guys are up to this weekend, or even if you celebrate Xmas...but I wish you all the peace, health, happiness and inspiration this universe can offer, now and well beyond the new year
That's okay I know you appreciate art as much as I do. I just wanted to put that out there not necessarily directed at you because some people think that they are like a regular barbie but with a bit of decoration.
That's cool that your mom and aunt raised you to see the value of art! My parents never gave a damn about my art or art in general.10yrs ago when I told my mom my hair is a work of art when defending why I had dreads she just said"I want dreadlocks but not like you nasty mop." I just took my dreads and shook them in her face with a huge smile on my face. Well over 10yrs and I don't speak to her or any of my gazillions brothers and sisters.
Not angry at them though because I know they don't love themselves so they can't love others that's why I made the conscious decision to stay away from the negativity.
Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful day! :0)

@Trina -- Oh believe me, I wasn't thinking about them being "play dolls". The kinds of daughters I'd like to imagine myself having would be so respectful of having dolls like these as art -- kind of like how I was as a little kid. I had a favorite aunt who used to sculpt dolls and figures and hand-sew dolls as gifts to me. My friends always wanted to play with them but I refused to let them touch 'em. I even made special shelves where I could display her work in my bedroom. They were so inspiring. That's where some of the seeds of my love and respect for art were sown in my childhood. I'll be forever grateful to my mom and my aunt for helping to plant those seeds. Keep creating, chica. Your work is so rad
@EvaLovelocks thank you. I plan on putting them on my etsy store today. Fell free to come and check it out. :0)

@BleeckerBetty thank you. You might not want them for a child. They are art dolls. So they can't style the hair and dress them up and all. But I know there are some kids that would just put them on their shelves and enjoy them as one would a painting.
