Welcome. Some salons say they "specialize" in dreadlocks. There is no way to specialize in them. There is a way to destroy them, though. That's what salons do.

If she just twisted your hair, that's not so bad. Did she use any products? Any waxes, gels, creams? If so, they need to be washed out before your locks will ever mature. "locking products" only help create the illusion of locks. But in fact, they prevent locks from forming.

And yeah, NEVER use Dreadhead HQ or Knotty Boy products. They are scams

Welcome to the community. Twisting is fine to start with your hair type, but they are in now and do not need any maintenance. Anything that woman will do for you (just seen your discussion) will only do you harm. People retwist and interlock, etc which can cause something called traction alopecia. This is basically balding in patches from unnatural traction and forces acting on the scalp. Much of the time the damage is notreversible.

All you need to do to have healthy dreads is wash regularly (1-3 times a week for mature dreads. Every second day for baby dreads or whenever your scalp gets itchy) and separate when the sections start to grow together, unless you want some congos, in which case you just let them grow together.
