Does Peaceful Protesting Work?

I just wondering what everyone thinks about this....there has never been a peaceful revolution...and I am wondering if this is just crap the ones in charge put out to keep us peaceful while they assault our freedoms. This is just a question not a statement. Please pop some comments I would really like to know..
