Hi all,

So about 5 weeks ago I decided to bite the bullet and start dreading my hair. After quite a bit of reading I decided to go with the Twist&Rip method because it was the fastest way I could find with the minimum damage.

These are the first 3 days of my dreads:

I will have to get some more photo's of the progress but my dreads are starting to loosen up quite a bit and I've researched ways to tighten them up but I can't find any that don't also have extreme consequences.

I've been using a baking soda/lavender oil mix that I read on this site. have been using it for about a month longer than I have been dreading. I let my hair air dry and never towel dry.

So how long do they take to start tightening again? Some of the shorter dreads have come out completely.

I used the TnR method as well and mine loosened up quite a bit but I did start noticing some of them getting tight again. It's just a matter of being patient and letting the hair move into the position it want to.

the only way to tighten dreads is let themn tighten rthemselves they will get looser before they get tighter..just let time do all the work for you
