Just to let you know also that in the beginning you are going to feel really impatient and want to be in control of what happens to your hair and be excited to get dreads NOW - but it doesn't work like that - I remember that feeling and wasted about 3 months messing around with different methods to 'get' dreads before I gave in and just left them alone - 1 year has flown by and now they are dreading like crazy and i LOVE them and the best part is you don't have to do anything or spend any money just wash a few times a week and live your life your hair will take care of itself because hair is amazing like that!

heres what she did with her dreads they were started out all wrong but shes doing it right now..just doing noithing

Tried interlocking for 2 months with synthetic braids on top (No idea what I was thinking!?????) was then advised to crochet as it was the only way for me to get dreads as the interlocking didn't take - spent 6 hours on my birthday having 18 crochets put in before we thankfully ran out of time and then spent 6 more hours picking them out! Had a couple of weeks of twisting and trying to keep them all separated in nice neat coils then got fed up of that so At the beginning of June 2013 I took the coils out - washed my hair and haven't done anything but wash every few days since. I know now that this is the only way I'm going to get nice natural clean happy dreads! I wash with Lush Seanick shampoo bar about twice a week
