My son age 21 months

I just want your guys' opinions on dreads on children, and when an appropriate age to dread a childs hair would be! My son has yet to get a hair cut, and I refuse to cut it until he asks me to, and if he asks at any age to do dreads, I will gladly allow him to do that! Right now he is a little under 2 years old and can't talk quite yet. I think dreads on kids are the cutest things ever! But we are definitely going to wait a while!

The ones on top are all coming apart at the roots and at the ends and meeting like half way, I think imma brush the top ones out since my hair is super soft still up there and would only take about 2 hours maybe. Then Imma bleach the top to match my bottoms and re T n R the top part. :/ sighhh curse my hair for naturally being straight and super soft. I will dread yet, I will have my beautiful dreadies <3

Finished them about 3 days ago Im a very proud mama to 1 little boy and about 47 fresh dreadlocks <3 Not gonna lie, they are going to take a little getting use to, but I already love them! They are a mess of loose hairs and just complete chaos but thats what I was going for . I think they are looking pretty good! 544802_435224256569952_417543395_n.jpg

Im almost done dreading my hair its been about 2 weeks now since I started, Ive been easing my way into it and I have maybe 6-7 dreads left to do!! my hair is a wild crazy mess of randomness and I need to tweak it a bit and fix up some loose hairs and such but Im almost there!! :D

So far I'm only about a week into dreading, and I find myself taking my sweet time. I suppose it could be because I'm not ready to make the drastic change quite yet. I add a few more dreads every day, but I've slowed down a lot as I get closer to finishing my head. I want to do all of it by myself with out specific sections so it looks more natural and crazy, but at the same time Im terrified how its going to look when its done. I've been wanting dreads for years, since I was a child even, and its taken me so long to do so. I'm trying to become what I have always envisioned myself being, and accentuating my persona. I love my dreads so far <3 absolutely love them, even tho they are off in their own world most of the time I suppose its hard for me to let go of societies standards, and what my friends and family are going to think when they are completely done, but its a journey I personally feel I must take.
