Welcome. Adam and Eagle are right. Any maintenance that is done will do nothing to help your locks. It will don't nothing but hurt your progress. Crocheting, retwisting, interlocking, anything really, will only cause damage. If you can ever seen your scalp in between your sections, you are forcing yourself to go bald. It takes some time for these bald patches to really expand, but they do, and it's nearly impossible to fix it once it starts to happen
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suppose that the maintenance involves a crochet hook? If so, this is extremely damaging for dreads. Every time it is used it breaks hairs and weakens the dreads. If it is another form of "maintenance" then it is either completelyunnecessaryor potentially damaging. Take the re-twisting of dreads for example. The unnatural forces and tension on the scalp can cause something called traction alopecia, which is basically large sections of balding in patches on the scalp. Obviously, this is something to avoid. Please let us know exactly what you mean bymaintenance.
welcome but what maintenance do u have done and why the maintenance your having done creates the need for more maintenance because its so harmfull dreads need no maintenance at all just washing and seperation anything beyond thats harmfull
let me guess your thinning alot of scalp showing the roots way thinner then the ends and yoir wondering if your going bald? all thats caused by he maintenance your doing that shouldnt be done
if your going to a salon thats the worse thing you can do
