Welcome. I hope you rinse out the salt water when you're done washing. You should NEVER leave salt water in your hair for more than 1-2 hours. It will over dry your hair and make it brittle and dry. I know it may sound like having dry hair would be good for locking, but it shouldn't be brittle. That's what leaving salt in would do. It will also over dry your scalp, making it itchy, and possible start to crack and create sores, over time.
I'm not trying to scare you away from salt water. It is great, and serves a good purpose. It just shouldn't be left in
